I just made it to the second interview for a job I really want. Somebody please pinch me. Even if I don’t get it, I’m incredibly proud of myself for making it this far in the interview process :D
So my mom and I have been working the same waitress job for 5-6 years now. She had been waitressing years before, but this is recently. Anyway, about… 15 minutes ago this guy she waited on left and told her to take care. Just that. Prior to this she had talked to him about Italy. Her people are from Florence, this and that, and she said she’s never been. She’s got 8 years of art education and she’s working a waitress job. It’s pretty… Sad and disappointing, I guess. Her and my father divorced 6 years ago and she hasn’t had a real job ever. Just been stuck in a small town she’s not from.
This man who we have never seen before tipped her 1000 dollars for a trip to Italy. Walked out, not another word.
…you know. Just when I start to lose faith in humanity….Hm.

The man comes off as intimidating but damn if he isn’t the most generous person I’ve ever known.

Someday I want to carry around a $100 bill and save it for a waitress that strikes my fancy. Make it at least an annual thing.

1. At this time next week, I’ll be on a plane to Boston!!!
2. My running buddy is home for the summer :)
3. I scored some good stuff while thrift shopping last week
4. I see light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to the negativity going on at my work
5. I’m starting therapy soon with a real psychologist instead of a student this time. My student therapist rocked, though!
6. Tonight = Lou Malnati’s pizza and boyfriend night
7. I’ve done yoga once/week for a month!!
8. I’ve mastered the art of homemade iced coffee
9. My coworker brought in a workout machine so now I can exercise at work!!
10. I only cheated on my salad diet three times :) I wonder if I lost any weight….
There was clearly a proposal on one of my favorite paths. Maybe between two runners? … *Sigh*
Six miles sunday, five miles today. My love affair with running is back :D
Sometimes you have to let things go so there’s room for better things to come into your life.
